Tea and Scones: The Podcast

This is not your grandma’s art podcast.
Equal parts creative pep talk, middle finger to perfectionism, and late-night rant & ramble from your favorite art witch on the edge—this is a space for misfits, makers, and messy sketchbook keepers. Expect unfiltered audios about making stuff, surviving burnout, and reclaiming art as something
wild, weird, and entirely yours.

I JUST WANNA TALK ABOUT ART

No webinars. No warm-ups. No “drop your Instagram handle in the chat” nonsense. Just short audio episodes for creative people who are tired of being talked at instead of talked to.

☕ WHAT THIS IS

Tea and Scones is a low-effort, high-truth audio series about art, creativity, burnout, freelancing, comparison spirals, and showing up when you’d rather quit.

Each episode is under 30 minutes.

The pod is not:

  • A webinar in disguise

  • A “boss babe” blueprint to monetize your creativity

  • Another “how I made 6 figures in 6 weeks” saga

  • Voice notes from a girl who bought a ring light and found God

  • A lecture. Ever.

  • A personal brand infomercial wrapped in faux vulnerability

Just one human (hi, I’m RJ) saying the things I wish someone would’ve said to me, ranting about injustices in the art world, & trying to motivate all my new internet friends.

🚫 WHAT THIS ISN’T

  • A course

  • A funnel

  • A long-winded webinar that takes 60 minutes to say 1 thing

If you're looking for perfectly polished advice or 12 steps to scale your creative business, this ain’t it.

🧷 WHO IT’S FOR

  • The artists trying to restart

  • The burned-out freelancers

  • The creative people quietly making things at 11PM

when the house is finally quiet

  • You, probably

meet rJ

Hi. I’m RJ. I’m a fine artist, photographer, content creator, sometimes-writer, and full-time creative human trying to make things without losing my mind.

I started Tea and Scones because I was tired of being told how to “optimize” my creativity and “scale” my art practice when sometimes I’m just trying to find the energy to pick up a pen.

I’ve spent years making art, consulting for brands, and making peace with how weird and winding the creative path can be. This podcast is where I talk through all of it—without the gatekeeping, the fake cheerleading, or the 20-minute webinar intros.

I’m not here to teach you how to hustle harder. I’m here to remind you that your creative voice still matters, even if you’ve lost track of it for a while.

Thanks for being here. I made you something.
(It's audio. And possibly a mess. But it's real.)

“Why is it called Tea & Scones?”

Because it used to be a YouTube channel that died a quiet death in the algorithmic void like a century ago, and I’m stubbornly keeping the name for reasons that are 80% nostalgia and 20% spite.

Also, tea and scones sounds cute and cozy—like a chill chat, not a corporate webinar with slide decks and “networking opportunities.”

Plus, I like tea. And carbs.
Next question.
